    Days 2-8:

I'm a little behind on posting, but I'm going strong on my 365 project!  Many days, particularly days I work, I have only had time for iPhone photos.  Some of them aren't artistic or even all that exciting. That's ok though.  I want to capture my life...the boring days along with the fun and exciting ones.  I decided to do a theme for the holidays.  November photos are all things that I am thankful for, and along those same lines, December photos are things that bring me joy.

    Day 8: My water-loving kitty

Day 7: Down time at work

    Day 6: Big green eyes

Day 5: Freezing cold (26 degrees!) fall football

Day 4: A husband who wakes up early on his day off to make me breakfast before work (and then pretends like he's going to eat them all)

    Day 3: Lazy Saturday mornings

    Day 2: A job I really enjoy

    Day 1:

It's a blustery, winter-like day...time to break out the holiday candles!

Hi! I finally made a blog....my goal is for it to be a place to share a little slice of our life with our friends and family. I've been toying around with the idea of doing a 365 photography project.  I'm not a professional photographer...far from it!  I'm just a girl who happens to love photography and has a strong desire to document our family memories.  We don't have kids yet (hopefully someday soon though), but I want to try and improve my skills so that I'm ready to take awesome pictures when we do!  I would not consider myself to be artistic- I work in healthcare and am more of a science person- so, I feel my biggest struggle is developing an eye for what makes an image more than just a snapshot.  The only way that I'm going to improve is by actually practicing. I love to learn and research- I've read tutorials, taken online workshops, etc...but head knowledge will only get me so far. Thus, the reason I want to do this project.  I'll be honest. I attempted a 365 last year, but the timing was terrible. Between selling a house, building a house, and planning a wedding, I only lasted a few weeks before I gave up.  Based on that experience, I'm going to set less rigid expectations for myself.  I'm a type A perfectionist, and it stressed me out trying to think of and get "amazing shots" daily. This time, my goal will be daily shooting, but it can be with my DSLR or my iphone.  And as long as I shoot daily, it doesn't matter what it is or how it turns out- just that I take something.  Ultimately, I would like to have one "keeper" a week.  I think this should be more manageable...and hopefully having this blog will keep me accountable!  I know most people start these projects at the beginning of the year, but I'm feeling motivated now, so I'm going with it. ;-)  I'll be starting later this week- can't wait!
